Providing job skills training and connection to employment to women in Africa. We will promote entrepreneurship by teaching skills such as soapmaking, casava farming, and midwifery as well as providing loans for women to start their own businesses. Once their business becomes profitable, the paid back loan will be used to help another woman succeed.
We will contract with U.S. companies that outsource customer services to offer job opportunities to African women. We will work with companies to provide specific training such as English proficiency and computer literacy. These partnerships have been successful in other countries and offer women sustainable, well-paying jobs.
We will ensure women and their children have access to trauma-informed mental and physical healthcare. Training women as midwives will help increase successful births in rural areas. Women will have the knowledge and tools to protect themselves from HIV and other STIs.
To ensure women are successful, we must fix the societal and systemic issues that contribute to their challenges. We will work with local faith-based and community leaders to build awareness around women’s rights, reduce gender-based violence, and advocate for changes that will improve their lives. We will also create space for women to speak their needs.
